I paint charcoal portraits for over 20 years. Over time I improved my own technique with mixtura charcoal and chalk on paper mi-Teint from pictures. The technique uses the Tortillon, a kind of cotton wrapped pencil that can soften the lines with perfection.
As I began to paint portraits?
I first discovered the technique of charcoal portrait in Brussels with the artist Patrick Clobus, the artist held solely for making pictures live on the streets in central Brussels. Having also the way to paint, had so much willingness to face the cold and rain of Belgium.
Several times he had gone to Paris and I could see how the technique was practiced in the picture, the square well-known Sacre-Coeur in Montmartre. One day musicians wanting to visit friends in Italy, not knowing how to sustain me during the trip, I decided to try to do pictures ... I started to paint (for free) all friends to achieve a satisfactory result and thus began the adventure.
For months, made all the northern coast between Genoa and Florence (Italy). It was indeed a very rewarding challenge, especially liked the contact with people from all sorts of cultures, of all colors, little children and the elderly.
After continued to improve learning traveling by other European countries. Now I live in Portugal now for over ten years and every picture that place, I always try to improve and refine me in this beautiful art.
